Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an approach to health based on a system developed over 2500 years in the Far East, it is now very popular in the West, due to its effectiveness.

In the Far East it is believed that the body’s vital energy travels in a clearly defined path, which Traditional Chinese Medicine calls, meridians or channels. By using sterilized, single-use, disposable needles at meridian points that correspond to various organs and systems, the body’s energy can be encouraged back into balance and stimulated to heal itself.

Modern science believes that when the acupuncture needle is applied to the acupuncture point certain chemicals are released which act on the body to restore well-being.

Prescribed as a means of pain relief, acupuncture is in fact used to treat people with a wide range of illnesses. Its focus is on improving the overall well being of the patient, rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms. Listed are some of things acupuncture is used to treat:

· Migraine · Stroke · Gynaecological disorders · Menopause · Addiction and Substance Abuse · Asthma · Anxiety and Depression · Nausuea and Vomiting in Pregnancy · Digestive Problems
