Physiotherapy deals with human function and uses physical approaches to treat a wide range of conditions with the aim of relieving pain, promoting relaxation and restoring movement. Techniques include manipulation, mobilisation and massage. Exercise is used to increase general fitness and to strengthen muscles which support the spine and correct imbalances in order to help prevent future episodes of pain. Physiotherapists are trained to diagnose problems in the joints and soft tissues of the body, and carry out a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for your particular problem. Physiotherapists are regulated by the Health Professions Council and have three years training including a significant proportion of exercise therapy. Physiotherapists are trained to assess musculoskeletal problems and muscle imbalances in the spine and peripheral joints and Pilates is thus used as a functional and dynamic treatment technique.
Both our physiotherapists are BUPA registered along with other private healthcare companies.
